Run for Rohan
This week Streamline Surgical were proud sponsors of a local charity run. Children from Orley Farm School and members of the schools’ community have been raising money for Sudden and Unexpected Death from Epilepsy (SUDEP).
Each year, more than 1 out of 1,000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP. If seizures are uncontrolled the risk of SUDEP increases to more than 1 out of 150. The School chose the charity after hearing of the passing of a former pupil. The School therefore thought it would be fitting to pick SUDEP as their charity for this year.
Throughout the school year there have been a variety of events to raise funds for the charity. One of the biggest events of the School’s charity calendar was a 5km run.
On Wednesday 6th June around 300 children took part in the race that was sponsored by Streamline Surgical. With child obesity on the rise, sporting events like the Run for Rohan, is a great way to encourage children to get active whilst raising money for a good cause.
Congratulations to all the children that took part in the Run for Rohan from everyone at Streamline Surgical. Please click here if you would like to make a donation
